At Saint Jean la Rivière there are also golf courses: 12 holes.   LOCAL PLACES OF INTEREST   We are not far from all the historic sites of Normandy, with le Mont Saint Michel, Bayeux and its Cathedral and Reine Mathilde’s tapestry, the D-Day beaches (Utah-Beach, Sainte Mère l‘Eglise), Cherbourg and the City of the Sea. >>> photos    GASTRONOMIC DELIGHTS   The lovely towns of Portbail and Carteret are nearby  with stores, super-market, bars and nice sea-food restaurants,  and you find easily our apple’s products: Calvados, cider, apple tarts, also sea-food and cheese: Camembert , Livarot.   WEEKLY LOCAL MARKETS     Between 8 am and  1pm   Monday: Bricquebec, Carentan Tuesday: Portbail, Wednesday: La Haye du Puits Thursday: Carteret (old railway station) Friday: Valognes Saturday: Barneville Center Sunday: Barneville-Plage (in Summer) In the summer time, the  30’s  train, on tuesday and saturday between Portbail and Carteret.
